Spanish–English worksheets for kids
The most-used pairing on LingoSheets: one picture, one English word, one Spanish word, printed side by side.
By grade: Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade
Spanish–English is the pairing most US dual-language, transitional bilingual and newcomer programmes ask for. Every theme on this site carries a Spanish word for each picture, with accents preserved in print (pájaro, camión, mañana) so children see the spelling their reading books use.
The sheets are deliberately bilingual on one face rather than English on the front and Spanish on the back. That lets a monolingual teacher, a Spanish-speaking paraprofessional and a family at home all use the same page without translating anything first.
Teaching notes
- Start with cognates: animal/animal, familia/family, planeta/planet, música/music.
- Sort the picture cards into masculine and feminine nouns — el gato, la vaca, el árbol.
- Use the matching sheet as an exit ticket; it takes thirty seconds to mark.
- Send the flashcard page home so families can practise both languages without a screen.

Questions
Is the Spanish Castilian or Latin American?
The word lists use common neutral Spanish that is understood in both Spain and Latin America (coche is the one clear Spain-leaning choice; the picture makes the meaning clear). Regional variants can be requested by email.
Do you include accents?
Yes — in the word tables, flashcards and word banks. The word-search grid strips accents so the puzzle stays solvable, which is standard practice.
Can I use these in a dual-language classroom?
Yes. Print one sheet per child and use the same page for both language groups; the picture carries the meaning.
